General Information about the Paso Robles Art Association:
The purpose of the Paso Robles Art Association is to provide the North San Luis Obispo County with quality artwork and to raise awareness and appreciation of art in the community. The mission has a component of youth education in local schools and community outreach programs. Finally, the PRAA promotes, displays and offers fine art in a gallery setting.
The PRAA holds meetings on the second Monday of each month, from 10 am. until noon. Each meeting features a demonstration by a well known artist and is open to the public. If you would like to become a member, you may do so by applying online at this site, at a meeting or by contacting our membership chair (see contacts page).
Periodically it is good to examine an organization's bylaws to see what needs updating. A committee of three PRAA members took on the task. The guiding principle was to make the bylaws agree with our practices and to lessen the specific details so that the board could change details without having to change the bylaws. For example, we deleted the classifications of members so that it would be easier to change those classifications as needed.
According to our bylaws the membership has to approve changes to the bylaws and be given the proposed changes 30 days in advance of voting. The bylaw changes will be discussed at the November general meeting and voted upon at a subsequent meeting. If you have questions about the proposed changes, please contact Barbara Brogan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
